I am new to Phalcon framework and thinking of using this great framework for my project since I need to implement heavy API.
Do you know which version is the stable one?
Or, should I go for PHP 5.6 and use old version of phalcon?
If you could recommend me, it would be great.

Use php 7 and 3.0.2.

No, 3.0.2, there is some problem on 3.0.3 https://github.com/phalcon/cphalcon/issues/12554 didn't checked it though.
I upgraded my prod instances to 3.0.3, haven't noticed that issue. Gonna give it a try.
