I'm feeling proud that I got the PHP<->JS .PO gettext localization integration working in my project but apparently there is a new API available in Firefox, Chrome and IE11+ that solves a lot of very complicated problems. I've been referred to information about it but it seems like a massive clusterfuck with some very primitive tooling. I'm not sure but I suspect that there is a lot of proprietary secret sauce tooling around it in very large corporations but I don't see anything publicly available that is approachable to people who don't have double degrees in both computer science and linguistics.
As far as the tooling its been difficult enough to get my translator to base her work off of the latest PO (POedit) file that I gave her, sigh and this other tooling seems very technical in comparison. Its more of a general PHP issue but how will people work with this new format between the two environments?
